Between the small villages of Zangas, Tromelgo and Canosa, all located in the Civil Parish of Ferreira-a-Nova (in the Municipality of Figueira da Foz), in a small valley with a stream, there is a small public water fountain, named "Fonte da Luz dos Quadros". There is a picnic area near the fountain.
This fountain has a name very unusual and odd. The portuguese word "quadro" means "board" or "frame" or "painting". So, the name of the fountain can be translated to "fountain of the light of the boards", "fountain of the light of the frames", or "fountain of the light of the paintings". I really don't know the history behind the odd name of this fountain!
I present a few pictures of this place, taken in October of 2012, during a bike ride.
